Halloween Kills

Summary Scare Critics Say: WORTH A WATCH Scare Critic Review If we’re being honest (and we always are), Halloween Kills is not the movie we were looking forward to seeing. It lacked the match up of badass Laurie Strode vs. Michael that it was hyped up to be and felt more like a live action remake of the sequence in Beauty and the Beast where Gaston gathers the town’s people into an angry mob to “Kill the beast!” Much of the dialogue was weak, often repeating that it had been “40 years” and the battle cry “Evil Dies Tonight” was overused as a seemed to be filler in place of additional dialogue. However, that being said, there was much about Halloween Kills that we did enjoy. Halloween Kills is a throwback to the classic Halloween movies and was styled to look as so. From the music to the flashback scenes, it felt like an old school horror movie with better production quality. It was so good to see blood effects that utilized old school fake blood pumping out of wounds instead of the CG effects so many movies are using now. There’s nothing like the splatter using actual fake blood. Also, although much of the dialogue felt lazily written, there was a good mix of the drama the town was going through and humor to lighten the mood and put a viewer at ease in just the right moments. Summary Scare Critics Say: WORTH A WATCH Scare Critic Review Although this movie isn't a typical horror movie it's what we've come to love an expect from M. Night Shyamalan. It's thought provoking, disturbing, and leaves you thinking well after it's ended. Honeydew

Summary Scare Critics Say: WORTH A WATCH Scare Critic Review Although cannibalism is a tale as old as time, this movie brings its own unique creepiness to the arena. If the ambiance of the dark and dirty, but well loved farmhouse isn’t enough to put you on edge, the characters definitely will. If you’re looking for a movie that will leave you feeling disturbed well after watching, Honeydew is the movie for you. Malignant

Summary Scare Critics Say: Only If You're Desperate Scare Critic Review This movie is a slow and boring dud for the most part. The special effects are cheesy (mannequin head in the shadows anyone?), the dialogue is poorly written, and the acting isn't strong enough to carry it. If you’re going to watch it, do yourself a favor and skip to the last 30 - 45 minutes. The Night House

SummaryScare Critics Say: ONLY IF YOU'RE DESPERATE! Scare Critic Review The Night House is a drama masquerading as a horror film. It tries really hard to be scary but darts in several directions, borrowing from several movies, and never ties it all together in the end.
